I live in a very industrial city, just on the outskirts of the city centre and every now and then you get a peephole to what it was like a generation of two before we were here.
I had another version of this where the background didn't have the gridline but I decided to keep this one, I think it compliments the idea of industry.
Comments and constructive criticism appreciated.
Oh and full view please, it looks much better that way.

this is nice... i like the way you've separated the images, creating, almost three separate but subsequent images. the composition is good, and so are the colours and textures in the sky.
nicely done

my mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely prints
I grew up in an industrial city myself (Gold and iron factories- South Africa) and they produced wonderful sunsets and sunrises very similar to this.(the only advantage of polution). This is an excellent shot that makes me homesick. lol
That sky is simply outstanding and you have captured it extremely well.
Silhoutted buildings against a beautiful sky may be a cliche for some but I would rather think of it as classic, and besides you've given it a bit of a twist with your frame(s) and made it something more than a simple photo.
I am not to sure about the gridline background, I think the plain black would be better, the grid is sort of distracting.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind comment, I really enjoyed reading it and I'm pleased that you think what you do of it.
It is a view that I have known almost my whole life and I was really pleased that I could get the result that I did. I too love the sillhouettes against a warm sunset
The reason I submitted this one with the gridline backing is because I felt that it softly carried on the sort of industrial look that extra little bit.
If you save pictures on your computer and you would like me to send you the one with the plain black background, that would not be a problem...one thing though, on my monitor I can barely notice the gridline background and you are saying it is distracting, there might be a little chance your monitor is not calibrated properly, if that's the case, there are a few sites that can guide you on doing this, also adobe gamma will help you out too.
I take it this is Glasgow then? I worked for a few months last year in Cumbernauld, but went in to Glasgow a few times...great city.
I do not normally keep the photos on my PC, thanks anyway, and Yes I have my brightness turned all the way up...lol...it's because I find it easier drawing on photopshop like this, it allows me to see all my faults...thanks for the advice.
